India has accelerated its renewable energy transition, with cumulative installed solar capacity reaching 143.60 GW by February 2026 and non-fossil fuel sources surpassing 50% of total capacity. Under the revised "Panchamrit" goals, the nation is targeting 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030, supported by initiatives like PM-KUSUM and the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
